Twas the eve of Christmas And all through the house Everyone was awake Save the dog on the couch All the family was there In out of the cold To await the arrival Of the legend of old Twas the birthday of a friend Ne'er forgotten but far away And she'd called many times On that slow snowy day Then the phone picked up And in her eager ear That familiar voice clattered Such a joy twas to hear With good wishes given And conversation caught up They then parted ways To mingle and sup After knitting some time And movies playing all hours She resolved to respite And take a quick shower And when the family had settled Thei
